The Miracle in the Midst of Loss: Reflections on Charlie Kirk

It’s been three weeks since Charlie Kirk was killed.

Even as I write those words, it still feels surreal. I remember when Travis came running down the stairs and told me that he had been shot, my heart just sank.

My immediate prayer was, “God, please let this be one of Your miracles. Please let him live.”

But that prayer wasn’t answered in the way I had hoped.

Over these past three weeks, I’ve seen something extraordinary happening.

People from all walks of life, many who didn’t know much about Charlie, have been watching his talks.

I’ve heard more than once, “How can I mourn over someone I’ve never met?”

And in the midst of that grief, there’s been an undeniable spark of revival.

So many are coming to Christ. People are going back to church.

Charlie’s life and example were bigger than any of us could have imagined.

The movement rising up, “I am Charlie Kirk” has become a rallying cry.

It’s showing us that people are no longer afraid to stand for truth. They’re no longer willing to be silent. So many are speaking out boldly.

And instead of dividing, many are choosing to invite honest, civil conversations with those who think differently.

That’s the power of free speech, one of the greatest gifts of our Constitution. Because when conversations stop, violence begins.

As I’ve prayed and reflected, I can’t help but think of another moment in history.

I’m sure the apostles and Mary cried out to God, begging Him to let Jesus live during His crucifixion.

Yet we know that Jesus had to die on the cross because through His death came the miracle of resurrection, the miracle that changed everything.

In my grief, I realize that while God did not answer my prayer to let Charlie live but He has still given us a miracle.

The revival we are witnessing in these weeks since his passing is nothing short of divine.

Hearts are being awakened. Faith is being renewed and courage is rising.

Charlie’s death is not the end of his story, it’s the spark of something greater.

A movement. A revival. A miracle.

To your success and His glory,

💖 Melanie
